Our Quality Care
We, at Helix Hearing Care Centre, are staffed with highly trained professionals to evaluate and treat your specific hearing care needs. Our primary goal is to determine your hearing problem and tailor treatment to your specific needs and lifestyle.
Audiologists have advanced university degrees (either a Master's or Doctorate) in Audiology, specializing in the study of hearing disorders and rehabilitation. They provide comprehensive diagnostic hearing evaluations to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, and the specific treatment needed. They also select and dispense hearing aids.
Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialists have extensive training in the selection and fitting of a wide variety of hearing instruments, and are licensed by their state or province. They are also licensed to test hearing and to recognize the need for a full diagnostic evaluation with an Audiologist.
Both Audiologists and Hearing Instrument Specialists are non-medical rehabilitation professionals. Both of these hearing healthcare professionals are educated in the identification of potential ear diseases and disorders that require medical treatment. In such cases, patients would then be referred to an Otologist or Otolaryngologist, the medical specialists who treat diseases and disorders of the ear.
